It seems that companies have got a way to test the security of their devices, indirectly they invite security unlock experts by offering them money to do so to discover the vulnerabilities that the devices they create.

Since 2010 that Google has been paying Hackers who found vulnerabilities in their hardware or software. Last year the company made an announcement to break the company's security system Chromebook in which there was no success or response from the Hackers, but now Google has decided to double the amount of the reward to 100.000 USD.

The 100.000 USD payment applies specifically to anyone who can Hack the Chromebook or even unlock it, but Google also has a wide variety of rewards for small mistakes that someone might discover. Initial payments start at 500 USD, and if you provide a correction with your error submission you are rewarded with the equivalent “Hacker Friend” sum of 1337 USD.

Google also guarantees that any vulnerabilities presented, regardless of whether there is an official reward or not, are potentially eligible for a reward, although the rules for submitting qualification are relatively strict.

The best part of these rewards programs that they are becoming more and more common among technology companies, is that it is good for end users, as there will be a hope for safer hardware and software.

Google ended its rewards announcement with an encouraging note: “Happy Hacker!”
