Angola Cables recently reported that the submarine cable SACS was already on its way to Angola, as the study of the cable course was completed, which lasted more than a month and a half and required the participation of about 50 technicians on board the vessel.

Now the information on who will finance the submarine cable SACS has come up, the Angola Development Bank (BDA), owned by the Angolan state, will finance with 130 million dollars the installation of the submarine telecommunications cable that will link Angola to Brazil and the U.S.

According to information from the Angolan Ministry of Finance, the agreement for this financing, which involves a Sovereign Guarantee of the Republic of Angola, also foresees the construction of a 'datacenter' in Brazil and was signed with the BDA on Monday, in Luanda.

The project in question, in which Angola Cables leads the consortium responsible, provides for the installation of an undersea fiber optic cable linking Angola to Brazil and then to the United States, to strengthen communications. The cable linking Luanda (Angola) to Fortaleza (Brazil) will be composed of four fiber pairs with a data transmission capacity of 40 Tbps (terabits per second) and is already installed, also financed by the BDA.

It is important to point out that these cables are operational, aim to increase the capacity of international connectivity to and from Angola, reducing the costs of international calls, also fostering the expansion and competitiveness of the Angolan Information and Communication Technologies sector .

Has the Angolan State done well to finance this project?
