O Chat GPT violates data protection rules – this was the information provided by Garante, the Italian data protection authority, to OpenAI, which developed the artificial intelligence chatbot. The information is contained in a statement from the authority on Monday, according to Reuters.
It should be noted that the authority is carrying out an investigation that began last year and is, according to the news agency, one of the most proactive in the European Union with regard to assessing the platform's compliance with the 27 data privacy regime.

Last year, for example, the authority even imposed a temporary limitation on ChatGPT in Italy due to alleged violations of EU privacy rules. OpenAI resolved some issues and the service was eventually reactivated.
However, the authority said it would continue its investigations and ended up concluding that there are elements that point to a potential violation of data privacy.
