Some of the largest technology platforms in the world have positioned themselves against the invasion of Ukraine, ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin last Thursday (25). See now the latest updates in this regard:
Apple banned RT and Sputnik apps
Apple has announced that it has removed applications from RT and Sputnik from the App Store, Russian state media outlets that have been banned by some of the biggest tech companies in the world – such as Meta, Google, Microsoft and even TikTok.
As revealed by the TechCrunch, this action by Apple was applied in all markets where the applications were present (with the exception of Russia), being a measure that aims to combat the propaganda of the regime led by Vladimir Putin.
This was not Apple's only measure against Russia, where the company also announced that it had suspended sales of all products in that market, in response to an appeal by the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Instagram will have encrypted messages in Ukraine and Russia
Instagram has announced that users of the social network in Ukraine and Russia will be entitled to send encrypted messages, according to the GadgetsNow.
According to what the platform says, Instagram users in these two countries will receive a message in their inbox alerting them to the news, where this is to ensure the privacy of communications between users.
"We want people in Russia to be able to continue to listen to [Ukraine] President Volodymyr Zelensky and others in Ukraine”, announced Meta, owner of Instagram.
Remember that WhatsApp and Messenger – other messaging apps from Meta – already have the ability to exchange encrypted messages.

TikTok will also block state media in Europe
After Meta, Google and Microsoft announced this Tuesday, the 1st, blocks to the largest Russian media outlets in Europe, TikTok adopted the same position, informs the Engage.
With that measure, TikTok will block the pages of RT and Sputnik on the social network, with the videos no longer available to European users.
Remember that Twitter also announced that it would identify all publications shared by state bodies, a way for users to know that it is Russian propaganda.

RT and Sputnik YouTube channels will be blocked in Europe
Google announced on the Twitter page dedicated to the division of the company in Europe that it will block the YouTube channels of the two largest state media outlets in Russia – RT and Sputnik.
"Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, we will block YouTube channels linked to RT and Sputnik across Europe with immediate effect.”, can be read in the company publication. 🇧🇷Our teams continue to be aware of the situation in order to act quickly".
Google's decision comes shortly after Meta did the same on Facebook and Instagram, effectively blocking RT and Sputnik on European social media. The purpose of this measure by Meta and Google is to combat the Russian propaganda 'machine', of which the two publications are part.
