A Technological Innovation Fair of the Telecommunications Institute (FITITEL) has helped in the creation of several startups by students who passed through the Luanda Telecommunications Institute (ITEL) and developed several projects, revealed the institution's director, Cláudio Gonçalves.
Speaking on the first day of the 14th edition of FITITEL 2023, which runs until September 9th, with the motto: “Technological innovation at the service of road safety”, informed that the theme was chosen to demonstrate how the Ministries of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication and of the Interior can interact for the benefit of road safety in the country.
Cláudio Gonçalves hopes that the fair will be a space where the National Directorate of Roads and Traffic can also expose the technologies they have been using to ensure road safety.
This year's edition brings together individuals from the Business, Political and Government sectors. The organization, he added, counts, in this edition, with ten "startups", created by former ITEL students, and six companies in the Telecommunications and Information and Communication Technologies sector.
Cultural activities, lectures and five mini-courses related to information and communication technologies are scheduled at FITITEL. The idea, he added, is to encourage the exchange of experience with the academic community of the said teaching establishment and more than 20 speakers.
The activity, he said, is essentially for ITEL students. “But, in this edition, we have the presence of students from the Technological Training Center of Uíge, who have also developed interesting technological projects, as in other editions, in which students from various municipalities in the country’s capital and other provinces were present” .
