Certainly our electricity distribution company for the capital city, Luanda, would approve this lamp that promises to survive 40 years!
The novelty was presented by the American company Firefly, a lamp that generates a light called a Firefly LED which saves about 90% Power. At the moment, the great problem of the lamps, is the overheating that occurs after they have worked for a long time (in Luanda we do not have this "problem", thanks to EDEL, thank ...)
With this launch, the company has clear objectives:
- Stop the constant change of lamps.
- Reduce lighting costs
- Reduce problems with the disposal of burned-out light bulbs (JEA thanks ...)
How does it work?
The Firefly LED uses a heat sink capable of lowering the internal temperature by 32%. This extends lamp life by up to 40 years. You can see the heatsink in the photo above ...
Another good news is that the company also found a way to make the lamp work with only 5% of its energy capacity, saving a lot of electricity. If the user wants to improve the light performance or if the lamp stops working, it is possible to change a small LED that is inside the lamp.
Price:
Cost estimate is 35 USD in the United States (approximately 3500 KZ). Well, with that money we can buy 6 fluorescent lamps. A big disparity, but we have to look at the long-term costs ... right?
