The number of Angolan customers still using a fixed telephone, based on the four operators licensed by the Angolan Communications Institute (INACOM), has been going down, where in the last six years it had a drop of 60,8%, reveals the newspaper Economic value.

According to that Angolan newspaper, of the 304 thousand active customers in 2016, which at that time corresponded to 1,11% of the Angolan population, only 119 thousand continue to use landlines until the end of 2021, which currently represents 0,38. XNUMX% of the population.

According to the data released, in the third quarter of 2021, more than 185 customers abandoned this service with the operators, which meant 0,72% of the population.

Angolan civil society abandonment of landlines began in 2017, when there was a 47% drop, which represented 161 customers abandoning landlines, corresponding to around 0,57% of the population. In the following years the decline continued, where in 2018 there was an abandonment of 0,02%, which represented 171 thousand customers.

In recent years it has been revealed that the abandonment graph has risen again, with more than 119 thousand customers ceasing to use fixed telephones, which represents 0,38% of the population.

The above data were released by INACOM, which also showed that of the 119 thousand customers who continue to use the fixed telephone service, 42 thousand are from Angola Teleco, 41 thousand from TV Cabo, 33 thousand from MS Telecom and around a thousand from Startel.
