Meta alert for malware impersonating ChatGPT

The company responsible for Facebook, Meta, released a warning that the Chat GPT is being used to spread malicious software among users.

According to Reuters, Meta warns that public interest in ChatGPT is driving scammers to use the Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool to encourage the download of malicious apps and browser extensions.

The technology says that, since March, it has found 10 families of malicious software and more than a thousand malicious links that were promoted as tools to be used in conjunction with ChatGPT.

Speaking in connection with the publication of this notice, Meta's security manager, Guy Rosen, stated that “ChatGPT is the new cryptocurrency” with regard to scammers.
