Ministry of Higher Education creates consultation on the creation of an Innovation Platform

The first consultation session on the creation of a Digital Platform for Technological Innovation, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Information Technology, took place last Thursday at the National School of Public Administration (ENAPP-EP). with UNDP, and in which Menos Fios was present.

The round table opened by Jorge Portugal, CEO of Cotec(Portugal) and testimony by Torben Rankine, Partner LBC, San Francisco, was attended by several members of Angolan civil society, from academics, businessmen and public managers who gave its opinion on the creation of a Digital Platform for Technological Innovation, and how it can involve several national stakeholders, so that everyone can take better advantage of the project.

The event had good interventions from those present, who analyzed and gave their opinion on the objectives that should guide this digital platform for technological innovation, as well as their concerns about thechallenges of innovation in the world and in Africa and the p.policies that should involve this innovation portal.

On the MESCTI side was the consultant Jone Heitor, who also gave his opinion on how this public institution has been trying to promote innovation in Angola and the ideas of that same portal, in accordance with the policies implemented by the Executive of João Lourenço, President of the Republic .

It should also be noted that the consultation had extensive stakeholders from various public, private and academic sectors, in order to facilitate circulation and transfer information, technology and knowledge, as well as link between the offer and the attorney, streamlining partnerships between knowledge-producing institutions
and technology, and companies seeking innovative solutions for their development or expansion.

Another reason for creating this small ceremony was to provide the public access to
useful tools and content about entrepreneurship and innovation, updated and available in one place.

For what was approached during almost two hours of consultation, it was answered to the transfer needs of technology and knowledge on the part of
higher education institutions (HEIs) and support the strengthening of its relations with private sector companies (especially in the areas of production and services) in order to foster scientific research and entrepreneurship at the academic level (similar to RTTI).

It should also be added that the consultation also resulted in responding to the large business needs dimension, SMEs and startups, so that they have access to new scientific developments and locally produced technologies, as well as useful information and open data; and for them to easily identify potential partners, employees and investors for the development of new products, processes, applications, materials and services, thus stimulating their growth and expansion.
