Rwandan ICT Minister visited the Angosat control center

O Government of Angola signed on Wednesday (19 of June 2019) a Memorandum of Understanding for strengthening cooperation in the field of Telecommunications and Information Technology with Rwanda. The said agreement was signed during AngoTic 2019, by the Angolan side initialed Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, José Carvalho da Rocha, by Rwanda the counterpart, Paula Ingabire.

The Minister of Information, Communication and Innovation Technologies of Rwanda, Paula Ingabire, accompanied by the Ambassador of Rwanda in Angola, Alfred Kalisa, as well as members of the public and private sector of her country, visited the MCC - Control and Mission Center of Satellites of Funda, during a visit conducted by the Director General of the Management Office of the National Space Program (GGPEN), Eng. Zolana João, accompanied by the Deputy General Director for the Technical and Scientific Area of ​​GGPEN, the Flight Director of the MCC and the different Deputy Directors and MCC areas.

The visitors received information on the different phases of construction of the MCC, including the construction of the access road, the construction of the external infrastructure to support the MCC (water catchment and treatment station near the Bengo river and the medium voltage transformation station ) and building construction (MCC). They also knew the different compartments and received detailed explanation on the operation of the areas, highlighting the archived telemetry information regarding the period of operation of the satellite Angosat-1.
