MINTTICS launches project to implement the national cloud infrastructure

Angola now has a National Cloud Infrastructure Implementation Project in the country, which aims to promote digital development, improve the citizen's perception of governance and efficiency, as well as cultivate local talent in ICT.

The project that also serves to offer Cloud services in Angola and establish a basis for digital transformation in the most varied sectors of the country was launched this Thursday (16), through the National Institute for the Promotion of the Information Society (INFOSI).

With presence at the event of Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), Mário Oliveira, the Angola National Cloud Infrastructure Implementation Project results from the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in December 2021, between the Government of Angola and the United Arab Emirates, operationalized between Multinacional Presight and the respective Angolan ministry.

BUT: National spatial plan aligned with global development agenda

According to what was revealed, the infrastructure of the National Cloud of Angola is a Governmental Cloud, Unified, built on the Government Data Centers, with the capacity to offer more than 80 Ecological Services.

The Project provides for the migration of existing Applications and the implementation of new Applications for the Unified Governmental Cloud.
Located in Camama, in Luanda, the building where Cloud Nacional de Angola is installed, has 2 prefabricated floors of Modular Data Centers in an area of ​​860 m2.
This technological project also completes the dedicated network of the Angolan State that connects all Ministerial Departments to the National Assembly, in a fiber ring with a capacity of 50GB.
