A Nigeria's Communications Commission (NCC) revealed that the number of people using the Internet in Nigeria decreased in July from 2017. The number of users decreased from 91.629.066 in June of 2017 to 91.450.252 in July of 2017, a fall of 178.814, according to a report from the Communications Week of Nigeria.

The numbers revealed by the NCC represent Internet users in the CDMA and GSM networks. The drop in users has been attributed to a number of conditions that include the decline in a number of subscribers of the major telecom companies.

The statistics showed that in the 91.450.252 Internet users in July of 2017, 91.419.943 were in the GSM network, while 30.309 were in the CDMA network. It was also noted that GSM service providers lost 178.814 Internet customers in July of 2017, while CDMA operators 30.309 subscribers.
