The national subscription television signal distribution operators will, from now on, also guarantee Internet and fixed telephony services to customers.

This information was revealed earlier this week by the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Angolan Institute of Communications (INACOM), Pascoal Borges Fernandes, at the end of an agreement signed between that public institution and the directors of FINSTAR – Sociedade de Investimentos e Participações, holder of Multichoice Angola, Luís Henrique, and TV Cabo Angola, Francisco Ferreira.

With the implementation of this measure, underlines Pascoal Borges, the Angolan market will thus have more gains, especially in the field of subscription television distribution services, noting that these companies can work with other market segments, in order to obtain more revenue operators and the State.

"With the emergence of a greater number of operators, the provision of services in this sector may suffer a significant price reduction and have even more quality”, he reiterated.

The PCA of INACOM he also stressed that they will be stricter with companies providing television services, in relation to the breach of certain agreements, such as the interruption of the TV signal after the end of the subscription, in particular the Public Television of Angola (TPA).

"There is an agreement that establishes the continuity of the signal, for a limited period of 120 days, after which the subscriber must make the payment to be qualified, again, for an equal period of time”, He explained.

According to the public manager, the important thing is to guarantee, with the operators, that there is, in fact, the grace period, without paying for the TV signal, in particular Channel 1, of TPA, as there is already an agreement with INACOM .

"The institution has a complaint line, which answers with the number 15555"

On the other hand, for the director general of TV Cabo Angola, he says that this agreement is essential, as it allows companies in the sector to be authorized and licensed.

"Before we had a multi-service license that caused problems in content distribution. Now we have a good deal".

One problem he hopes to see resolved soon, he said, are pirate networks, some called community networks, whose services have distorted the quality of legalized companies. The agreement now signed, he revealed, gives licensed companies autonomy to explore this market segment for ten years.
