The National Police arrested 13 people, including two women, in the country's capital Luanda, who were part of a network of scams, via social media, telephone calls and blackmail.

According to the spokesman for the National Police, sub-commissioner Mateus Rodrigues, the suspects acted in a premeditated and organized manner, with the arrests taking place following several complaints made on social networks and participation of victims in police pickets.

"Although the victims were mostly from the province of Luanda, the perpetrators identified targets across the country, using social networks and direct or random telephone calls.”, revealed the staff to Lusa.
