The event WebSummit is a technology conference, held annually since 2009. The company was founded by “Paddy Cosgrave, David Kelly e Daire Hickey“. The conference theme is centered on internet technology and attendees range from Fortune 500 companies to small technology companies.
Portugal hosts the ninth edition of the largest startup and entrepreneurship fair opened this Monday in Lisbon. An event where 65 1,000 participants are expected over four days. For four days, from 6 to 9 in November, over a thousand speakers seek to inspire and give advice to entrepreneurs from around the world at the Web Summit.
Web Summit contains a mix of CEOs and founders of technology startups together with a number of people from the global technology industry, as well as related industries. It is considered the largest event of its kind in Europe.
This year the meeting has more than 1600 startups and of these 270 are Portuguese, Angola is represented by Tupuca and Appy Health. Companies are divided into three categories: Alpha for those starting out, the Beta for those who go halfway and Home for companies with the highest growth potential.
Among the special guests are United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, former US Vice-President Al Gore and François Hollande, the former French president.
