Technological Training Program for Public School Students arrives in Huíla

The “Technological Training Program for Public School Students” will reach teenagers in the province of Huíla in the near future, according to the person in charge of the project, Augusto Firmino.

Speaking to the management of the Telecommunications Institute (ITEL) during a visit to the site, installed in the municipality of Cazenga, in Luanda, Augusto Firmino, explained that the social and sustainable entrepreneurship project started on the 17th of this month and intend, in a second phase, work with the teenagers of Huíla.

"We intend, subsequently, to reach all provinces in the country, in order to give all teenagers the same opportunities", said.

To participate in the project, he said, it is enough to be a student at a public school. “The selection of the first group of participating students was made by the Associação de Estudantes do Cazenga, a process that will be repeated in the next editions”, he promised.

With the launch of the project, he stressed, the company intends to increase digital literacy and create an environment in which children have greater contact with robotic and programming tools.

Regarding the first phase, Augusto Firmino made a positive assessment of the training, as it allowed students, in such a short time, to be able to assemble an electronic circuit and automate it with sensors, based on programming.

"In addition to learning about electronics, they also gained knowledge about robotics and programming.".

BUT: Children from Cazenga benefited from an innovative technological training cycle

Pascoal Adão, one of the participants, thanked the opportunity, which allowed him to gain more experience in the field of Telecommunications.

"I already learned to program and I can create an electronic game", said.

The “Technological Training Program for Public School Students in the Municipality of Cazenga” project consists of technological training with the aim of changing the future of participating adolescents, providing them with the necessary bases for eventual higher education in the various areas linked to Science of Computing.

At the end of the course, with the participation of ten students, in a first phase, the organization informed that the candidates with the best classifications will benefit from a scholarship, for the conclusion of secondary education at the Institute of Telecommunications of Luanda (ITEL).

"We praise innovative projects like this one, which aim to awaken interest in technology among young students, providing them with unique opportunities for learning and interaction”He added.
