Emergents Program reveals the 10 startups selected for the initiative

The startups that will be part of the Emerging Program are already known, an initiative launched to support Startups, small and medium-sized companies (SMEs), with high growth potential in the market, had a positive outcome as it will raise financing from the capital market, thus contributing to the diversification of financing sources, promoting the inclusion of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the capital market and boosting the growth of different sectors of the economy.

BUT: “Emergentes” program aimed at supporting Startups with more than 130 applications

According to Vanessa Simões, President of the Board of Directors of the Capital Market Commission (CMC), promoter of the program, the Emergents Program was designed and is implemented in partnership with accelerators, incubators and consultants, with the objective of preparing SMEs.

According to the PCA, after the application process, one hundred and thirty-four companies from the different provinces of the country were registered, highlighting the province of Luanda with a weight of 75%, Benguela with 7%, Huíla and Namibe with 4%, equally, in the different sectors of activity, with service providers in greater representation, with the weight of 77%, followed by the agriculture and livestock sector with 5% and the trade sector with 4%.

The ten selected startups were those that presented the greatest robustness, with a view to benefiting from the mentoring program, with a view to future admission of projects into the BODIVA SME market segment.

Released in 2022, the Emergents Program is intended to support small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) and startups, with high potential at different stages of growth, as well as improving governance and management practices, maturation of their products and services, in order to enable them to issue financial instruments on the capital market.
