Fintech revolution in Africa is lecture cycle by GSMA

Over the past 15 years, the success of the service M-Pesa it has been a catalyst for major technological and connectivity improvements in the Sub-Saharan Africa region, and where with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic this type of service has accelerated even further, leading to a significant increase in smartphone usage for online financial services. The opportunity for banking transformation has never been greater than it is now, and in this period of unprecedented change, collaboration remains critical.

Building on that line of thinking, GSM Mobile Money Africa is hosting a series of webinars this week to explore the latest innovations and discuss opportunities for new partnerships and leveraging emerging technologies.

This series of webinars comes from the GSMA cycle of sessions from the end of September, with the Mobile Economy Report, and runs through the 15th of December with the live “Digital Paths to a Climate Resilient Africa”.

For the series of sessions scheduled for today, November 16th, you will see the FinTech Keynote, with contributions from Amnah Ajmal, Executive of MastercardAwa Gueye Ba da MowaliBrian Gorman of GSMA e Lesley-Ann Vaughan of Mojaloop Foundation. Also noteworthy is the presence of speakers Cedric N'guessan, Muhammad Nana (Mastercard), Ngozi Megwa (Mastercard), Olugbenga GB Agboola (Flutterwave). Finally, the same session will also address the implementation of 5G networks across the African continent, with ZTE's managing speakers.
