According to rumors, the Samsung has started production of its new Exynos processor, which promises to be a major rival of Snapdragon 820.
About two weeks ago information about this new processor had appeared. And now after the official launch of the Snapdragon 820, it is no coincidence that we hear again about the future Exynos.
This processor will be identical to its predecessor, the Exynos 7420, thus benefiting from the same 14 nanometer FinFET technology. You can use 8 cores with 2.4 GHz ARMv8. At the moment, technology based on 14 nanometers provides very advanced performance, but Samsung is considering using 10 nanometers by the end of next year, and the chances of them using 10 nanometers in the construction of the new Exynos 8890 processors are still slim.
We will probably see the Galaxy S7 in two versions and with different processors. Both Exynos and Snapdragon 820 will be equipped with a 12 category modem. The site GForGames claims that they are already in production, thus giving strength that the Samsung Galaxy S7 may appear in the month of February of 2016. The rumors have not been confirmed by Samsung, so we should have to wait a little longer until official information is published.
