Samsung launches 16 TB SSD, the largest capacity on the market

Samsung announced last year the launch of an SSD with the largest capacity on the market. This storage device was named PM1633a, and is currently the the world's largest capacity internal storage unit. Hard drives with more storage space today have up to 10 TB.

But now Samsung has officially launched the SSD (solid state drive) with the largest capacity worldwide, thus containing 16TB (15.36 TB available to the user) and unfortunately the price of this storage device has not yet been revealed.

The company reveals that it was able to put as much storage inside a small package while stacking 512 256 Gb V-NAND memory chips, which have double the capacity of other NAND chips. Samsung also ensures that it is possible to write 15,36 TB data to the drive every day without fail, with tools to protect the data.

Samsung also plans to launch the same model with the following capabilities: 7.68TB, 3.84TB, 1.92TB, 960 GB and 480GB later this year.
