If you've restored your Android device, be aware that the old information can still be retrieved

Android DataA worrying truth. Do you remember your old smartphone, which you sold or offered? The fact is that we usually delete data with the native Android tool “Factory Restoration"(Factory Reset), we were relaxed because the system reports that all personal data has been deleted and the Smartphone can be used by someone else.

But the team of Avast decided to do a little test to prove that this method is not totally safe.

For this they bought 20 mobile phones used in the eBay and the results were astounding:

  • 40 thousand photos, among them more of 250 selfies (for 18 larger ones)
  • More from 250 contacts
  • 750 emails and sms
  • Information about the former Smartphone owners

The point is that this data should have been destroyed and in the end, malicious people will still be able to use it.

The Avast team points the finger at Android and of course advises users that they need to delete content from their smartphone using the Avast tool, which they say is far more effective.

Will it be that in the next versions of Android we will have the resolution of this "problem"? In the meantime, pay attention to the personal content that passes to the mobile phone.
