Seedstars World reveals the 6 winners of the FTxSDG Challenge 2021

On the last 17th of December there was the final of the 2021 edition of FTxSDG Challenge, the Seedstars World competition that gives entrepreneurs around the world the opportunity to take their startups to the next level.

In this edition, which had a partnership with the Financial Times, 6 startups were recognized as winners, which automatically enter the Seedstars International Fund, and will benefit from funding of US$500 for their digital entrepreneurship projects, based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Check out the six winners of the FTxSDG Challenge for 2021 below, a contest that was created to empower promising startups and entrepreneurs to make a greater impact on learning and funding opportunities.

Anthem(India): category winner Education, and which consists of a platform that tracks the collection of fees, expenses and cash flows of an educational institution. Through its portal, users find a single operating system, in order to manage all the activities of an educational institution.

Duhqa(Kenya): Chosen as category winner reduce inequalities, Duhga is a platform that allows retailers to connect with manufacturers or other sources of their wholesale products, no matter if it is inside or outside the country. It should also be noted that the platform is also in charge of the logistics and transport of the products until they reach the retail seller.

Medl(Trinidad and Tobago):  Winner in the Category Health, Medl is a technological platform that makes the connection between doctors and patients, as well as being the patients' pharmacy, not forgetting, of course, the delivery of medicines.

Pinky Promise(India): Winner in the Category Gender Equality, Pinky Promise is a platform that aims to transform women's healthcare in India, as well as make them judgment-free by offering them an accessible app that works as a chatbot, where they can present any medical problems or symptoms (from painful periods, fertility problems, abnormal discharge, etc…), giving them answers on the questions asked.

Trii (Cayman Islands): category winner Economy, allows users to invest in Colombian stocks, all this very easily, quickly and safely, as long as they have a smartphone.

Safearth Clean Technologies(India): Winner in the Category Climate, consists of a platform that makes the process of buying and managing your solar plant as easy as buying a phone online.

It should be noted that these programs are looking at the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, which aims to raise awareness of global problems, while empowering entrepreneurs who are creating solutions that can address these issues.

Since 2013, the Seedstars World Competition has been the largest competition for startups in emerging markets, although the Covid-19 pandemic has adapted the competition to an online route in the last two years.

The FTxSDG Challenge received more than 4.500 entries in this 2021 edition, where the team at Seedstars and the Financial Times selected 30 finalists to compete for the six global winning places for each SDG. To see the complete list, click here.
