The South African billionaire Elon Musk posted a message on the social network Twitter on Thursday from which it appears that he is activating his Starlink satellite network to allow access to the internet in Iran.

“Activating the Starlink..." was the brief message released by Tesla's managing director, who responded to another message, also on the social network Twitter, posted by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in which he informed that the White House had issued an authorization to internet companies to make their services available in Iran.

The decision followed internet cuts ordered by Tehran leaders, to seek to cut short the protests against the repression of women and the obligatory veil.

"With this measure, we will help the Iranian people not to be isolated. It is a step towards significantly supporting the Iranians, who demand that their fundamental rights be respected.,” Blinken wrote.

State television IRIB reported the deaths of 26 people due to clashes with police forces.

The Iranian government has heavily restricted internet access, with mobile networks cut from 21pm until morning in recent days.

On Thursday, the US imposed sanctions on the Moral Police, for the death of the young woman, and seven leaders of the security sector, for the repression of the demonstrations.
