It is confirmed. O Seedstars World, the global competition for startups in emerging markets comes for the first time to Angola, organized by KiandaHub. Around the 10 top Angolan startups will be invited to present themselves for the opportunity to compete in the final event.
When and where?
O Seedstars Luanda will be carried out in the Space Bahia to 24 of October, 2015 and has Unitel as the main local sponsor. Applications are open until 2 in October.
What is the purpose?
The competition aims to put the spotlight on entrepreneurs in emerging countries. For this year's event, Seedstars World is focused on industries consultant (fintech), traveling e internet of things, thus creating industry-specific tracks in parallel with the global premium that has been renamed "STARS."
Awards
The regional winners will compete for 500.000 USD in investment capital in their industrial sectors, totaling 1.5 million USD in investment prizes and others outside the specific sector. All local winners will be invited to Switzerland for a final presentation in March of 2016.
Requirements for participation
Among the basic criteria to participate in the competition: less than 3 years from the date of its foundation; startups must have raised less than 500.000 USD in investment and have a PMV (Viable Minimum Product).
Seedstars World is also looking for startups who are solving regional problems and / or are developing a product and / or service with potential for the global market. With partners such as Google for Entrepreneurs and Microsoft, Seedstars World identifies innovative startups and supports regional business growth.
