This is the result of HP's study: the security of smart watches is not "taken seriously".

The results came after tests on the top 10 smart watches on the market (brands were not specified, but we already know that Apple Watch and Samsung Gear are on that list

Where is the real security flaw?

When projected, the smart watches they focus on pairing and communicating with smartphones, using Bluetooth or other equivalent technology, and this is exactly where most security problems start.

According to HP, all tested smart watches showed security flaws, especially in the areas of encryption and authentication. The communication of 9 of the 10 devices can be intercepted with very simple techniques, and even more serious, 7 of these tested devices do not have any encryption when transmitting firmware updates.

Most devices collect personal data whose destination is not specified. Do manufacturers have access? HP advises users not to pair their devices with unknown devices, to establish secure passwords and to disable access to networks without high standard authentication.
