UNESCO will help Angola in the collection of indicators on Science and Technology

Angola will count on the help of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in the training of technicians who work in the collection, analysis and dissemination of science, technology and innovation indicators.

According to the Secretary of State for Science, Technology and Innovation, Alice Almeida, speaking at the opening of the campaign for the collection of Science, Technology and Innovation Indicators (ICTI) and the Methodological Seminar for the Collection of Indicators, referred that the existence of trained staff in the technological sector is an important condition for the correct production of indicators.

The Secretary of State stresses that the data collection campaign for the production of Science, Technology and Innovation indicators is nationwide and covers the period from 2015 to 2018.

BUT: Government will provide the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) sector with greater dynamism

For Alice Almeida, the results obtained will make it possible to assess the performance and quality of the CTI activity in the country, as well as the actors of the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation.

Alice Almeida also explained that the collection of STI indicators aims to materialize the objectives of the national policy within the framework of the Sectorial Development Plan 2023 – 2027, of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESCTI).
