If you have the application WhatsApp updated on your device you may have noticed that in some of your contacts the conversation appears with a message saying that "the messages sent in such conversation will be fully encrypted" this demonstrates the new security plan implemented by WhatsApp.

For sure you already noticed that until a few days ago WhatsApp did not offer a certain security, which would make it even a certain point “vulnerable” to attack by third parties, who could obtain your conversations and files, but now the situation has changed with the end-to-end encryption implementation that had an integration that has lasted for almost a year and a half. The company started to deploy text message encryption in November 2014, as part of a partnership with Open Whisper Systems.

The change means that all messages, attachments, images, audios, calls and group conversations leave the phone protected by end-to-end encryption. Previously, protection was limited to some communication formats; the links, for example, were not encrypted.

Therefore, the implementation of this universal encryption allows a series of new protections in the application. Once the communications with a user are encrypted, WhatsApp will now notify the user and they will refuse to send unencrypted messages thus seeking to pass an advance notice.

But it's worth noting here that this does not make WhatsApp secure at 100%, but you can now have security before. Therefore to decrypt the messages in case of attacks only the user has the code QR, that it is difficult for another person to obtain other than the owner.

Do you think this change in Whatsapp is essential?
