WhatsApp will allow admins to delete any message

O WhatsApp works on a feature that will allow group admins to delete any message. Still in development, the novelty was discovered by the WABetaInfo website in version 2.22.1.1 of the Android application, which should be released in beta in early 2022.

When deleting a message, the platform will display the message “This message was removed by an administrator” for other participants. Currently, users of the application, regardless of whether they have administrator privileges or not, can only delete their own messages, inside and outside groups.

The new WhatsApp feature does not have a specific release date, either for beta testers or the general public. More management strategies are expected to be announced in the future, according to the BetaInfo.

Once implemented, it would be easier for group admins to delete obscene or objectionable posts. And it would also help admins to remove posts that go against the interests of the group.

The other recent novelty is the increase in the time limit for deleting a message. Today, users can only delete a text of their own in up to 1 hour, 8 minutes and 16 seconds. With the update, which was discovered in the desktop version of WhatsApp, the time increases to 7 days and 8 minutes.
