Several experts debated digital integration mechanisms in Public Administration, at the 4th forum on administrative modernization, held in Luanda, with the seal of Institute of Administrative Modernization (IMA).

According to the general director of IMA, Meick Afonso, the event brought together representatives from various public institutions and demonstrated that it was necessary to continue working towards the modernization and interoperability of public administration to benefit citizens and companies, facilitating procedures and saving time in improved public service delivery.

For Meick Afonso, the set of information produced by the different ministries, after crusades, should allow knowledge of the status of projects to facilitate decision-making and introduce possible corrections.

He reaffirmed the commitment to continue promoting cooperation between institutions, interaction between different sectors and breaking resistance to modernization.

He added that a single agenda for digital transformation will be published shortly and, consequently, the basic public administration interoperability project will be implemented, defining the data standards that will be adopted by all sectors.

BUT: World Bank will continue to support digital transformation in Angola

He said that once interoperability between institutions is achieved, barriers in the acquisition of certain documents will be eliminated, using technology, and companies will save time and resources and promote more employment.

Meick Afonso highlighted that, using digital transformation, citizens will no longer need a document from the Ministry of Justice to hand over to the Ministry of Health, when in reality the State already holds information about the citizen.

During the 4th forum, the executive secretary of the Executive Projects Monitoring and Follow-up Unit (UMAPE), Castro Camarada, indicated that his institution adopted a digital monitoring model, with monthly reports, on the evolution of public projects.

Castro Camarada said that information on the level of financial achievement of public projects will soon be introduced.

He complained of a certain resistance from some institutions in sharing data.
