Samsung Vs Apple

As end users discuss on social networks, who does it best devices, who offers better services, Apple and Samsung continue to earn profits and expand businesses. This is proven by the effort that Samsung has taken to officially in Angola (Apple, we're still waiting…)

So the two hit record sales of Smartphones, introduce innovative technologies, but, financially, who dominates?

To answer this question, we rely on the usual report from Fortune magazine, which presents the most profitable companies in the world (Angolan companies are automatically excluded).

1º item: Revenues (invoicing)

Samsung is the technology company best placed in the ranking, appearing in 14th place, with 178,6 billion dollars, leaving Apple in 19th place with 156,5 billion dollars.

Oil companies dominate this list, with Royal Dutch Shell leading the list, with $ 481,7 billion in revenue. We can still find BP; Total, Exxon Mobil, Toyota, Volkswagen ... well-known companies in Angola.

2º item: Profits

It is no use just having invoicing, but we have to analyze what the “surplus” is in relation to what was invested. In this regard, Apple surpasses all other technology companies, with profits of around 41,7 billions of dollars , while Samsung has profits from 20,6 billions of dollars.

Some time ago I spoke with a representative of Samsung in Angola and he talked about strategies for Samsung's domain in our country. My answer can be framed to explain this “low” profit from Samsung: focus.

Yes, Apple has a defined market, smartphones, tablets, smart devices for TVs, music players, computers and ... I don't remember anything else. Samsung has, smartphones, tablets, TVs (smart and not only), computers, Glaciers, Air conditioners, Microwave and… on top of that they need to manufacture several electronic components for these devices. There is no focus, the most profitable areas need to sustain the least profitable. So, in terms of profits, it's not about competing with Apple.

But these are empirical analyzes of a technology editor, I would like to hear from an economist ... anyone applying?
