Angola highlighted the new direction for Telecommunications and the Space Area in the next four years, the date scheduled for the ITUWRC, at the World Radiocommunications Conference (WRC-2023), which took place from November 20 to December 15, 2023, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates,

The event in which the Angolan delegation was represented by the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Mário Oliveira, also served to assess the cutting edge of global advances in telecommunications, with the country actively participating and making fundamental contributions to shaping important decisions.

Reviews were made based on an agenda determined by the Council of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), which takes into account recommendations made by previous world radiocommunications conferences.

Participants also evaluated aspects of space, 6G technologies, spectrum allocation and other critical areas of radiocommunications, thus marking a new era of technological collaboration and innovation on the global stage.

Regarding Africa, the continent's countries welcomed Resolution 559, with this aspect also emphasized by the ITU with satisfaction as the final steps towards the successful implementation of the measure, after years of extensive work, which now expands the opportunity to better provide satellite broadcasting services to populations.

Resolution 559 aims to allow countries to replace degraded frequency allocations in broadcasting spatial plans for ITU Regions 1 (Africa and Europe) and 3 (Asia).

WRC-23 was instrumental in reviewing the ITU Radio Regulations to support spectrum sharing and technological innovation, approving sixth generation radio interface technologies and allocating new spectrum for broadband connectivity, life safety human and observation of space and Earth.
