[Angola] Unregistered mobile numbers will be blocked in 48 hours

In time it appeared the information that, unregistered telephone numbers had the days counted. After almost two years, a new alert appears now, guaranteed that, all numbers that have not been registered will be officially disconnected.

INACOM revealed today that owners of more than four million mobile numbers in Angola have not updated their data in the 2015 campaign to 2017, and granted 48 more hours for their regularization.

During the press conference on “Registration and updating of data for users of electronic communications services”, Leonel Inácio Augusto (PCA of INACOM), warned that the numbers that were not updated will be immediately blocked if they are not updated within that period.

The official said that there 14.000.000 of users of electronic communications services, of which 11.396.238 numbers have been recorded. He also stressed that, with the end of this process started in 2015, a number of 1.234.579 numbers, including non-active terminals that did not request a duplicate.

This record corresponds to 95% of currently active numbers, leaving 5% unregistered.

The representative of the National Institute of Consumer Protection (INADEC), João da Silva, said that the term established for the regularization of the situation of the terminals obeys all the rights of the users. In this context, the consumer can be encouraged to comply with the 48 deadline for those who have not yet registered.
