[Angola Startup Summit 2023] Multinationals promise to leverage and boost national startups

With the aim of boosting the growth, technological innovation and training of Angolan startups through a wide range of services, nationally and internationally, several multinationals present in Angola will provide help and know-how for young Angolan innovators.

This information was revealed on the last day of the Angola Startup Summit, where the multinational, Deloitte, promised to offer business plans to the winning startups (Toque, INOKU and Baika Pay), and PwC committed to providing legal, accounting and management consultancy to the winning startups. KPMG offered the internationalization of the winners of the BCI Challenge, whom it will take to Lisbon to participate in the Web Summit 2023.

In the same vein, it was revealed that the Angolan Government will support the presence of national startups in the main international events of digital entrepreneurship, with emphasis on the Web Summit, contributing not only to improving the image of Angola in the world, but also providing markets and strengthening their capacity, in the search for new investors, according to the Minister of Economy and Planning (MEP), Mário Caetano João.

It should be noted that the Angola Startup Summit took place from the 27th to the 29th of April, which for many is the biggest event for Angolan startups, after the interregnum caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

With the presence of journalists from MenosFios at the event, the 2nd edition of the Angola Startup Summit, is taking place under the motto “Innovation and Technology as immersion vectors of startups in Angola”, and which aims to maintain and encourage the emergence of new startups, through the exchange of experiences, doing business, as well as cooperation with university institutions, potential investors, accelerators and incubators.
