Angola will have an exploration project for the Green Hydrogen in the town of Barra do Dande, capital of Bengo.
The information was revealed by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, when speaking in the Panel “Young people, actors in promoting the culture of peace and social transformations on the continent/High Level Dialogue”, within the scope of the 3rd Luanda Biennial, stressing that the project The technology will be developed by Sonangol, the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas and a German company.
According to the President, who was responding to a concern about Angola's contribution to reducing polluting gases, the objective is to serve the domestic market and export green energy to Europe and other consumers around the world.

In his approach, João Lourenço said that, with the same purpose, Angola will sign, at the COP 28 Summit, taking place this month in Dubai, an initiative that exists on the need to decarbonize oil and gas.
He said that, in addition to this UN initiative, there are others from international institutions that Angola will join, so that its oil and gas industry will, in the near future, have the capacity to measure carbon hydroxide emissions and reduce the as possible, carbon dioxide and methane gas emissions.
“These are the concrete measures that Angola is taking to contribute to the strategy against polluting gas emissions”, he highlighted.
Regarding energy production in Angola, the Head of State said that the country is committed to the fight against climate change and participates in all struggles within the scope of the COP.
