Cape Verde already has more than 80 electric cars imported with tax benefits, under the government's incentive program, and almost half are already circulating in the country, announced the Minister of Industry.

"More than 80 orders have already been approved, and almost 50% have already been implemented in imports and vehicles already in circulation“, said Alexandre Monteiro, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Energy, in Praia, on the sidelines of the 'workshop' on the Promotion of Electric Mobility in Cape Verde.

The Government of Cape Verde has approved a program to support the acquisition of 600 electric vehicles and 100 charging stations with funding from the European NAMA Facility program (Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions) in the amount of 7,1 million euros, of which three million euros are earmarked for incentives.
