[CES 2024] Find out everything to expect from the first big event of the year

Another year begins and with it the tech world prepares for the CES 2024, the biggest electronic devices event on the planet. It starts in Las Vegas next Tuesday (9) and ends on Friday (12). As usual, the MenosFios newsroom will bring you all the news about the event in real time.

Although the start date is January 9th, some brands will hold talks and other special activities on the eve of CES 2024, before the opening of the fair space. For example, LG, TCL, Panasonic and Intel will make some announcements on Monday (8), before the stands open on the 9th. And here we already have a hook for what we will see at the event.

LG will bring its next generation of car screens to CES 2024. In addition to the entertainment screens, which will be used by passengers in the rear seat, the South Korean manufacturer will show the displays that it will provide to automakers who want to (make the mistake of) transforming the panel into a huge display — even if the public prefers some physical buttons.

Still in the car segment, LG will finally provide more details on its transparent 5G antenna for car windows. Announced at the end of December, the antenna, which also supports Wi-Fi and GNSS, there was not much information disclosed in its announcement.

While we continue to debate whether or not AIs will dominate the world, the certainty is that CES 2024 will be dominated by this technology. Of the 376 scheduled activities, 81 have artificial intelligence as their theme — a cool comparison is that meta verse and NFTs will be the subject of nine lectures.

But don't worry, ads involving AI can really have an impact on your life if you use Windows. Intel will give some talks at the event and some of them, probably in the keynote with CEO Pat Gelsinger on the 9th, the company should reveal some news about the performance of its processors in AI activities on home computers.

It is speculated that the Microsoft present a new Windows in this year. This operating system is billed as the “smartest OS on the market”, bringing great integration between generative AI and PCs. To achieve this, Microsoft needs CPUs prepared for this.

At the end of 2023, a rumor raised that big tech will launch new Surfaces with Intel and Snapdragon processors that will be the first AI PCs — the name of this future generation of computers highly integrated with artificial intelligence.

According to some sources, AMD is also in this game and working directly with Microsoft, but focusing on AI for data centers and aiming to rival Nvidia. AMD's event will be on January 8th — the same date as its rival's event. The events of the three companies (AMD, Intel and Nvidia) will be broadcast online.

Wi-Fi 7 its specifications should be finalized by the Wi-Fi Alliance this year, on some date yet to be revealed. However, this is not a reason for technology companies to leave technology aside at CES 2024. On the contrary: the debut is right around the corner and it is time to show what it is capable of doing, presenting routers, modems and other compatible products.

Wi-Fi 7 must have a maximum data transfer speed of up to 46 GB/s — four times higher than Wi-Fi 6E. Two very interesting features of the new technology are the new frequency (6 GHz joins 2,4 GHz and 5 GHz) and Multi-Link Operation, which allows the device to connect to more than one frequency simultaneously.
