Comparison between existing mobility applications in Angola

1236

O our market is being graced with the arrival of several mobility services/applications, if memory serves me correctly we first had the arrival of Kubinga, T'Leva, Heetch, Yango, UGO and Bolt which is the last one to have just arrived in Angola. Among the existing ones, three are Angolan (Kubinga, T’Leva and UGO) and three are International (Heetch, Yango and Bolt).

The objective of our article is to make a comparison of the six services/applications that are currently working, without any intention of denigrating some of the companies that are on the list, but let's stop going around and get to the point.

Comparison metric

According to some explanations, Heetch compensates for longer distances and Yango for short ones and that both services have different rates on weekends. Taking these assumptions into account and that the comparison goes beyond these two services/applications, we decided to opt for a metric that helps compare the six, without favoring one or the other.

To avoid unfair comparisons, the findings we made during the tests were based on the same distance and practically the same times, both on weekdays and weekends, the route used was from Rua 24 of Projeto Nova vida to the Maxi da Samba, with a distance of around 20 km.

  • Kubinga: Taking into account that it was the first mobility service to operate in the country, it received the priority of being the first to be tested, as in addition to cars, the application also has the Moto-taxi service, in terms of prices on days of week the amount charged for the distance already mentioned is: Motorcycle Taxi Kz 1.295,18 and Car for a maximum of four people has the service Economy which costs Kz 2.878,16 and the Comfort costs Kz 3.453,80. On weekends the price is approximately Motorcycle Taxi Kz 532,50 and the Economic at Kz 1.065.00 As for payment methods, customers can pay with cash, multicaixa card as well as using a wallet that can be loaded by customers.
  • T'Leva: This was Kubinga's first competitor and arrived in a way that revolutionized the market with electric cars. On weekdays it also offers the service of Motorcycle Taxi that costs Kz 1.650,00 and the Car with the Economic costing Kz 1.875,00. As for weekends, Motorcycle Taxi costs approximately Kz 2.248,20 and the Economic Kz 1.700,00. Payment methods in the application include Pay Pay, Cash, Bank Transfer via credit card and TPA;
  • Heetch: It was the first international company to expand its mobility service in Angola, with a certain port even revolutionizing the market in terms of prices. On weekdays the lowest price is from Baza costs approximately Kz 2.300,00 and on weekends Kz 3.000,00. As for payment methods, the application offers the option of paying by Cash or Bank Transfer.
  • UGO: Rumor has it that the UGO comes from the same company that made the “Allo Taxi” and you’ve certainly seen a car with that brand. On weekdays the most affordable price for this option is MBAYA Kz 3.750,00, without forgetting that it still has the UGO CARRO and UGO XPRESS modalities where the price is different, on weekends the price is more affordable costs Kz 3.200,00. Regarding payment methods, the customer can pay with cash, transfer or TPA.
  • Bolt Angola: Well this is the newest baby that is bringing strong comments in the market, the international brand Bolt was recently presented to the Angolan market, promising to bring a new dynamic and prices in relation to its competitors (That bungle from the beginning). Currently the application has two services, Economy, which on weekdays costs Kz 1.330,00 and the Bolt costs Kz 1.590,00, As for weekends, the first one costs Kz 890,00 and the second service costs Kz 1.060,00. It is also important that the Bolt currently has no cars available according to my findings during the tests carried out, as it always appears when there are no cars available.

The prices shown here may change during the day, as the value is not fixed and may change depending on circumstances such as: The day, time, collection location as well as the distance to be covered by the car. My personal advice is that, when you need one of them, first analyze the price in each of the applications and then always choose the most affordable one.
