Computers in China blocked from receiving Windows 11

Since it was released on October 05th, Windows 11 has been shown to be an operating system that comes with the label of creating a new interface and a complete image for the system and its apps, according to Microsoft itself.

But since it hit the market, the main problem with Windows 11 is its security requirements, which experts say were caused by Microsoft itself, and where in China computers are prevented from installing this new software.

This bus on computers in that country is due to the mandatory presence of TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module), which is a security chip built into the motherboards that increases the security of the operating system. This is one of the most important security measures so that Windows 11 can be installed on a computer.

BUT: Windows 11 is officially released: Learn how to upgrade

But more than 20 years ago the TPM was banned by the government of China, as a protection measure for local users, according to the South China Morning Post.

To compensate for this ban, the Chinese government ended up creating an alternative, which it called TCM (Trusted Cryptography Module), which supposedly includes higher security standards than TPM 2.0, but was eventually overlooked by Microsoft in defining the Windows 11 specifications.

In the last week there has been news circulating that there are ways to get around this limitation and be able to install Windows 11. But to warn that these do not work in all scenarios, so they are not completely reliable and secure.

Microsoft itself has already revealed a way, but warned of potential problems associated.

With this gap, apparently deliberate, all PCs present in Chinese territory are thus prevented from upgrading to the new Windows. They can do it, but they won't have updates like the rest of the planet.

With Windows being the most used operating system in China, it is very likely that a solution will emerge very soon.
