Angolan companies must create a strategic plan for digital literacy, given the risks of spreading an institutional crisis, in the opinion of communications consultant, Paula Simons.

Speaking during the methodological meeting of the directors of the offices and managers of public Social Communication companies, within the framework of the II Consultative Council of the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), Paula Simons said that Angolan society currently has specific realities that need to be safeguarded with professional and strategic communication, complemented with the digital aspect of institutions.

He mentioned that there are difficulties in explaining to managers that there are professional and technical ways of communicating well, which is why there is always a risk of spreading unnecessary crises.

BUT: Digital literacy in Angola remains at very low levels, say experts

The speaker added that, for good crisis management, such as bankruptcies, public demonstrations or rumors, managers need to combine synergies and be prepared at all times as a team, for greater coherence in the dissemination of data and the solution of the problem.

The II Consultative Council of the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS) took place under the motto “Connect and Communicate for Citizenship”, and was opened by the holder of the portfolio, Mário Augusto da Silva Oliveira.
