The Government opened (30 / 09 / 2019) the new contest to elect the fourth telecom operator in the country. The first contest was canceled after controversy involving the company Telstaras well as the withdrawal of the South African company NTD.

But now it seems that the idea is to get around the situation, since Angola has promoted since Monday, in South Africa, international sessions of presentation of the Terms of Reference for licensing the fourth operator of electronic communications services on Angolan soil.

According to a press release from the Angolan Embassy in South Africa, the first session took place this Monday in Johannesburg and two more will follow, namely in the cities Pretoria (26 / 11) and Centurion (27 / 11). At these sessions, the Government of Angola's strategies to promote investments in telecommunications infrastructures as well as in human capital to boost the offer of better products and services to citizens are being presented.

Which South African companies can participate?

The Limited Qualification Competition has already been presented NTD, which will be followed by two other companies, namely SA TELKOM and AFRICELL.

According to information, MTN was particularly interested in knowing the spectrum bands available to be able to present a modern and innovative broadband service, which will include mobile telephony, Internet, cable television, Mobile Money (mobile payment, reception and transfer solutions), among others.
