The second day of the 38th edition of the Luanda International Fair (FILDA), the largest business showcase in the country, was marked by the launch of the “TPA Code” service by the Interbank Services Company (EMIS), manager of the Multicaixa network in Angola.

According to what was revealed in the presentation, the technological service is a simple image generated in the merchant’s solution or in the portal, made available by EMIS, with a static “QR Code”, associated with the merchant’s bank account, with a fixed or variable amount, not requiring, therefore, a physical terminal and/or smartphone, which allows the Multicaixa Network user, through the Multicaixa Express channel, to read the said code and thus be able to make purchases.

The launch of the "TPA Code" comes to show the evolution of the Automatic Payment Terminal (TPA) industry for terminals based on the Android operating system, which, as an open system, provides many advantages in relation to the traditional TPA, which uses proprietary operating systems.

BUT: [FILDA 2023] Impact of data digitization is highlighted on the 2nd day of the event

The "new generation POS" family of the Multicaixa network is thus made up of two "physical POS" products with Android operating system, called "POS Full" and "POS Mini", which are similar in every way to the traditional POS and allow purchases in stores with a payment card and with MCX Express, in addition to allowing the merchant to add other applications. It also has three products based on an Android mobile application for installation on mobile phones or tablets, called “TPA Flex”, “TPA Plus” and “TPA Code”.

According to figures released by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, the event has confirmed the active participation of 13 countries and 16 Angolan provinces, being held once again in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE) Luanda-Bengo, in an exhibition area of 28 thousand meters squares.

From the communication sectors in Portugal to German technologies, FILDA 2023 will become an event in which 307 companies (twice the 624 of the previous year), of which 139 are foreign, will try to show their multisectoral internationalization potential. Friday and Saturday will be the days with the highest number of visitors to the exhibition, according to the organization.
