This is certainly good news for users of the Android platform, as they were at a disadvantage compared to Apple users who already had a section available for Podcasts.
Previously users of the Android platform had to use Google Play Music, which was not exactly the best solution for listening and syncing podcasts. However, as of June 19, 2018, Google now has its own app Google Podcasts, which provides access to more than 2 million podcasts.
Unfortunately there is no information if we will have an iOS platform version.
With the new Google Podcasts app for Android, users can listen to and subscribe to any podcast, including popular programs like The Daily, Cyrus Says, Modern Love, Lage der Nation, The Bill Simmons Podcast and much more. It will also sync everything from Google Assistant even the speakers of the Google Home and even research. Google explained on its blog that it will also add AI-based features to Google Podcasts.
What are the other new features of this application?
The application will offer podcasts in different languages through automatic translations, as well as offering automatic subtitles for those who like to read. The app also offers proactive suggestions and related content. When opening the application, the user will see a section with the name “Para Ti”, which shows new episodes of podcasts that the user has subscribed to, as well as what the user has listed and needs to complete.
