A Google announced that it will reinforce the security of its Chromiumand, allowing the browser to check – in real time – whether the website you are visiting is secure enough.

In an official publication on the company's blog, Google explains that, until now, Chrome was based on a list of safe sites updated every 30 minutes to 1 hour. However, the company says it realized that these sites only remained active for around ten minutes – which did not create sufficient security guarantees for internet users.

BUT: Google Chrome receives new generative AI features

Therefore, Chrome will now check the security of websites in real time. "Standard protection mode for Chrome on desktop and iOS will now check sites against the Google-side list in real-time.”, can be read in the statement.“If we suspect that a website poses a risk to you or your device, you will see a warning with more information. By scanning websites in real time, we expect to block over 25% more 'phishin' attemptsg'”
