The Angolan Government proposes the promotion of digital literacy in terms of Communication Technologies and Scientific Research in the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), according to the words of the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança Costa.

The leader who was speaking at the opening of the XNUMXth Meeting of CPLP Ministers of Education, stated that education constitutes solid bases for sustainable development, in the most varied domains in the community.

"The CPLP must, as a whole, continue to be engaged in issues related to education, above all, an education capable of keeping up with the changes that are taking place in terms of technologies“, He said.

The Vice President of the Republic also considered crucial to pay attention to fixed cooperation positions, for specific segments of education, with emphasis on financial education, education for climate action and education for technologies, with a strong focus on digital technology .

Esperança Costa also highlighted the need to introduce mathematical calculation, languages ​​and ICTs, without forgetting the ethics component, as it is also agreed that education should be geared towards humanisation.

In this framework, he said that education should be at the service of development, peace, social harmony and the search for solutions to local and global problems.

He recalled that in the context of the concern to provide better quality to education, the II Extraordinary Meeting of Ministers of Education was held in 2022, which approved the Action Plan for Multilateral Cooperation in Education in the CPLP 2022 - 2024.

The meeting, which brought together members of the CPLP for the area of ​​education, took place under the theme, “Promotion of Educational Cooperation with a view to the Transformation of Educational Systems in the community”.

The event also aims to evaluate the Action Plan for Multilateral Cooperation in Education in CPLP 2022 – 2024, to officially launch the “CPLP Friendly Schools” Initiative, as well as to promote cooperation between the CPLP and International Organizations, with emphasis on the UNESCO.

During the meeting, the CPLP ministers of education will pay special attention to the world context and seek, through the exchange of experiences on bilateral cooperation actions, to promote multilateralism.
