Huawei and Ministry of Education Strengthen Cooperation

A Huawei once again strengthened its cooperation with the Ministry of Education (MED) by delivering a smart board to that national institution, in order to support the program "xylonga“, virtual school that promotes virtual teaching in Angola.

This donation from the technological multinational is within the scope of distance education using new technologies, as well as its corporate and social responsibility program and the digitization of key sectors in Angola, mainly education.

The respective technological device delivered to MED is of the latest generation and will provide an innovative advance to the distance learning program, as it works simultaneously as a computer, conference system and traditional teaching board with internet access.

"MED is committed to continuing to promote an increasingly technological educational environment, using the international references of companies operating in the national market, such as Huawei“, said Luísa Grilo, Minister of Education, quoted in the statement.

It should also be noted that this donation from Huawei is also intended to increase the operationalization of the “Xilonga” school, which consists of distance learning based on interactive tools and resources. This MED program has the central objective of offering resources and didactic materials for learning the syllabus contents of the Primary Education curriculum and the XNUMXst cycle of Secondary Education.

"Huawei Angola will continue to provide direct support to the Ministry and that one of our company's commitments is to continue to contribute to the acceleration of the digitization of the Angolan State“, said Wu Kui, Deputy CEO of Huawei.

With the support of their guardian, students will be able to easily register on the platform and use it from anywhere in the world, as long as they have access to digital support.

The name “Xilonga” brings together the notion of school and teaching, common to Kimbundu, Umbundu and Kikongo. The term results from the fusion between “Xi”, by Xikola (which experiences the idea of ​​school), and “longa”, by Kulonga (which expresses the idea of ​​teaching).
