Instagram Stories, a function that was recently announced by Facebook (the owner of Instagram), according to the latest figures released now has more users than Snapchat.

Data released this Thursday (13), by the Instagram show that the Stories function, which brings video and photos that go out after 24 hours, already has “200 millions" of daily active users. Data released by Snapchat at the end of 2016 showed 158 millions of active users per day.

“Instagram's Stories feature was announced in August 2016. Since then, Snapchat has seen the growth rate of users drop. The last quarter of 2016 was the worst in terms of growth of active users in the last 3 years ”.

The number of 200 million active users refers only to the Stories feature; Instagram as a whole already has more than “600 millions" of active users, which means that there are still plenty of people to join the Stories function.

Snapchat probably will not be able to beat Instagram's announced numbers, because estimates indicate that Snapchat usage has also dropped significantly with a fall of 40% in the audience since December of 2016.

A dispute between the two platforms and we think that Snapchat will not be happy with this overtaking and will do everything to become the leader with regard to the numbers of active users.
