At the end of last year, the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities advanced that Apple would launch three models of iPhones in 2018, and apparently their guesses are right, in the latest event, after Apple introduce the iPhone XS and XS Max, the company introduced the iPhone XR.
In relation to the XS and XS Max models, the iPhone XR is the most economical alternative, which undoubtedly costs under 1.000 USD. Users will have to settle for some limitations, like no dual cameras, but at least they will have some new features.
While the iPhone Xs and Xs Max have OLED Super Retina screens that basically take up the entire front of each phone, the iPhone XR has a 6,1-inch LCD screen that Apple claims to be “the most advanced of all time in one smartphone ”. The company is going so far and decided to call it “Liquid Retina".
While using only a 12 megapixel wide-angle camera on the back, the iPhone XR is capable of capturing images with artificial bokeh for soft backgrounds. In this smartphone, users will also find the smart HDR and have the option of adjusting the depth of field after taking a photo.
Similarities
This version will be much more like the XS than the numbered iPhones. There is no more button of Home physical and the screen supports gestures like “Touch to wake up” and swipe to the home screen. There is also a camera TrueDepth the front for authentication of the Face ID, using the same sensor configuration as the iPhone Xs and Xs Max. Perhaps the best feature of the XR is that it uses the new A12 Bionic chip with powerful performance benefits.
Prices and Availability
Users will be able to pre-order the iPhone XR on October 19, 2019, with deliveries starting on October 26 of the same year. As for prices, it will start at 749 USD with 64 GB (which is not accessible). Compared to the iPhone X, it is 250 cheaper.
