A long time ago, in a galaxy far away from here it will be free to play. Star Wars: The Old Republic, the MMORPG that is the continuation of one of the best RPGs of this early century, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, will now be free to play. Recently it was announced what the free SWTOR system will be like:
Choices In Character Creation: Limited
Operations: a weekly pass will have to be paid
Warzones: three a week or the payment of a weekly pass
Flashpoints: free, but with reduced rewards after 3 Flashpoints weekly with total rewards.
Space Missions: Three per week or free with a weekly paid pass
Cargo Hold: Collection and expansion with Cartel Coins.
Inventory: Limited, can be expanded with Cartel Coins
Crew Skills: One for free, more available for purchase
Quick Travel: Cooldown greater, reduction available for purchase
Emergency Fleet Pass: It has to be bought
Death: Resuscitations at the nearest Med Center are free, but free players can only resurrect in the field a total of 5 times. Extra field resuscitations will have to be purchased with Cartel Coins.
Item Equipment: Most purple items are blocked for free players unless they purchase a license.
Taking into account the number of restrictions, players have commented that “free” has a different meaning in SWTOR, since the restrictions are so many (especially when it comes to deaths) that you can hardly consider what is being played.
The free template has gained more and more success as it allows players to experience the game without having to pay, giving players the possibility to only pay what they want to use in the game.
