MenosFios was recently present in the training of journalists promoted by Angola Cables related to “Internet and ICT's“. Following this training, MenosFios and the journalists present were invited by Angola Cables to visit its Submarine Cable station in Sangano and Angonap in the Morro Bento neighborhood.
This visit was divided into two parts, the first being Sangano Station and the second at Angonap. The journalists were received by specialists working in these locations, where they received information about the operations that are performed in each of the locations, how maintenance and control of Angola Cables submarine cables are carried out and how the traffic interconnection of the service providers in Angola.
The submarine cable WACS (West Africa Cable System) which is a submarine cable system in which Angola Cables is co-leader with several African and European telecommunications operators.
O Angonap it is the central point of the entire Angola Cables network. This is where it houses: - Angonix (IXP Angola) and the Data Center. Angonap has all the conditions to receive entities that want to have their equipment in this location, as it was designed with a large capacity and designed for the need for rapid expansion.
For those who do not know, the Angonix it is a physical infrastructure through which Internet Service Providers (ISPs) exchange internet traffic between their networks. It acts as a central traffic aggregating point where customers who connect to it and can share content with other providers who are also connected at this point.
