The number of Internet-connected devices used by children and teenagers has grown exponentially in recent years, as has the number of online threats. Despite this scenario, many parents are not aware of the dangers their children are currently facing.
Other figures show that:
- 38% of parents talk about the dangers of the internet;
- 27% checks browsing history;
- 21% are connected to their children's social networks.
Parents need to be more aware of the dangers their children face online. They need to help their children better understand computers and implement protection methods to keep them safe on the Internet, just as they would in the physical world, Andrei Mochola, head of consumer affairs at Kaspersky Lab.
“Kaspersky's research went further and investigated the number of victims of some digital threat. According to the survey, 41% of children were exposed to intimidation in the period of one year prior to the study. The threats include inappropriate content, virtual bullying, contact with dangerous people, access to pornography, among others ”.
